Sonidos de la Gente – The East Boston Latin Music & Dance Festival Returns September 12th

The 4th Annual Event is Proudly Presented by Senator Lydia Edwards, ZUMIX, VROCC, Bajucol Dance Company, Salsa y Control Dance Company and the City of Boston.

(East Boston, Massachusetts – August 6, 2025) – Senator Lydia Edwards, in proud partnership with ZUMIX, Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC), Bajucol Dance Company, Salsa y Control Dance Company and the City of Boston, is excited to announce the return of the East Boston Latin Music & Dance Festival – Sonidos de la Gente on Friday, September 12, 2025, at East Boston Memorial Park.

This year’s festival will feature musical acts and dynamic dance performances, highlighting a wide range of styles—from folkloric and ballet to tango, hip hop, Peruvian rhythms, Brazilian bolero, and more. The festival will also showcase local artists offering face painting, handcrafted jewelry, vintage fashion, caricatures, and a vibrant array of visual art.

“It is a true honor to celebrate the rich, diverse Latin American cultures that help make our city so special,” said Senator Lydia Edwards. “On September 12th, we invite families, neighbors, and friends to come together for a day of music, dance, food, and community—free and open to all!”

Sonidos de la Gente was established to further embrace and uplift East Boston’s Latino community, recognizing its vital contributions to the cultural and social fabric of our neighborhood.

We’re proud to be a partner of Embrace Massó ¡Con Salsa! International Music Festival, a community celebration honoring Afro-Latinx culture through music, dance, and storytelling happening on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Boston Common 12-7pm.

This festival is made possible by the shared efforts and vision of Senator Lydia Edwards, the City of Boston Office of Cultural Affairs, Office of Civic Organizing, ZUMIX, VROCC, CK Communications Group, and countless local leaders and volunteers.

Join us in celebrating Sonidos de la Gente—the sounds of the people, the spirit of East Boston.
